What We Do

Art & crafts

Attendees at Branches work on weekly projects. As we take inspiration from the seasons, projects often reflect the time of year or local, national and international events in the calendar. We give everyone a choice of activities dependent on their interests. Recent projects have involved, paper mache, batik, sewing, mosaics and much more!

Cookery

We do cooking sessions in small groups or when possible, on a 1-1 basis. Attendees are supported to cook simple recipes that they could try at home themselves, building on their independent living skills. We alternate between sweet and savoury cookery, reinforcing the importance of a balanced diet. The group help pick recipes on a monthly basis with the staff.

Fitness

Conveniently, our Leigh Sinton venue neighbours a martial arts centre. These enables some of our groups to attend a weekly fitness session with qualified instructors, Jay and Pauline. The group take part in various activities depending on their ability. These include stretching, pad work, aerobics, ball games, using the gym equipment and much more!

What We Do

Roots to Branches & nature connectedness

Branches facilitates outdoor sessions, mainly at our other site in Suckley where we have a large polly tunnel. We use this to grow fruit and vegetables to use in our cookery sessions, or for attendees to take home. We are in the process of a planning application to get a new building built at this site, so we can hold sessions here all year round. We also make use of the accessible routes available from our main site in Leigh Sinton, to take part in some gentle exercise and connect with nature.

Drama & community based activities

With some of our attendees being budding actors, we attend The Cube in Malvern on a weekly basis, to access their drama sessions hosted by Reaction Theatre Makers. We also get out and about in the local community e.g. contributing to events at Worcester Cathedral and St Peter’s Baptist Church.

Music

Tim from Resonate Drum Workshops leads regular drumming and music workshops for our group. This is a great opportunity for attendees to make lots of noise while expressing themselves and exploring their creative, musical skills.
